There is a specific amount of fund set aside for NDIS registered providers for a service or support delivered. Service bookings are used for this purpose. It is important to understand that service agreement is quite different from service bookings. In the myplace portal, you can place a claim for payment against service booking. 

Through NDIS provider booking you will learn about the length of time, which is needed, and the type of support that will be provided. Accordingly, a specific amount of fund is set aside. Not only you but also your nominee or an NDIS registered provider can make a service booking in the myplace portal. 

If the funds for NDIS allied health services are self-managed then there is no need to use service bookings because you can pay your providers directly. On the other hand, if your funds are plan managed then one service booking will be made by the plan manager in the myplace portal. It provides the plan manager a provision to claim payment for all supports and services in the plan. Here, both the unregistered and registered providers can be included in the service booking. 

If you wish to book NDIS speech pathologist, it is imperative on your part to the service provider with your NDIS number, surname, date of birth, and the support areas where you are entitled for funding.
